History & Facts
Historical
In November, 1992, Indian Trails Middle School opened its doors. The traditional brick
construction combined with an innovative architectural design, reflects a
community's commitment to a solid educational foundation enhanced by openness
and change. Staff and students learn and work together, striving to
achieve the common goal of excellence in education.

Indian Trails Middle School has consistently received an "A" rating from the
Florida Department of Education. The parent involvement is second to none. The
PTSA has been selected as the top PTSA of the year for middle schools for
several years in a row. We have
been awarded a Five Star school rating, and continue to receive the Gold and
Silver Awards for exemplary volunteer programs. Our
school serves a diverse group of students.
We are always seeking ways of providing students with a
quality technology program designed to maximize their potential.

Media
Center
The
goal of the Indian Trails Media Center is to support, complement, and enhance
the curriculum. We strive to provide an environment
in which individual
differences and needs can be met, as students become proficient in information
retrieval from a variety of resources. We strongly encourage the use of the new
technological advances that have been
occurring in recent years with the advent
of electronic card catalogs, electronic encyclopedias, and the Internet. At the
same time we remind and assure students that print materials continue to be a
viable source of information. Our Media Center has over 10,000 books,
725 audiovisual items, and seventeen computers with Internet access. The Media
Center is open the most of the school day. Students are to come with a pass, as well as with their classes, to do research or find a book for
recreational reading. Orientation is provided for the 6th grade classes and for
new students as needed. A listing of Internet Resources
for students is available by clicking
